Pretty Things

Nicole Capozzi, Boxheart Gallery, has described my artworks as, “intimate, mysterious, personal poems,” and I hope the paintings and drawings in my upcoming exhibition read as such. The art in Pretty Things include still life, figurative and some color experiments. I took inspiration from artists such as Melchior d’Hondecoeter, Tiepolo, and Franz Snyders; re-imagined elements from their paintings, and integrated them to my own more flat, contemporarily-hued compositions.
The photos here are from the installation; the video shows us working on a 40 artwork grid of portrait drawings. I’ll update the imagery after the exhibition has opened.
